I’ve been censored a few times on social media platforms. It comes with the territory for someone who “speaks truth to power” (lol). Yesterday, however, I posted something so far out there, so beyond the pale, that the powers-that-be had to silence me.
This is what taking risks looks like. I don’t like that it has to be me who takes these hits…I have a lot going for me. But the government can’t hide the truth forever. I’m going to show you what they didn’t want you to see. This may be disturbing to some. Don’t look away. You’ve been warned.
I’m sorry you had to see that. You might be wondering: “why did they censor a picture of a monkey taking a selfie?” Instagram’s fact checkers explain:
So they blurred out a funny picture because somewhere, someone claimed this photo won an award, but it didn’t. Thank god we have fact checkers to keep us safe from misinformation. Heaven forbid people thought (even for a second) that this photo won some kind of award? Imagine the speaking gigs the monkey might get! And all based on a lie.
I for one am truly grateful that we have benevolent guardians (who should never, ever, even for a second be questioned) who are looking out to keep the glorified shopping mall that is Instagram safe from insidious, false monkey business.
